Refund Policy

1. Milestone-Based Service Agreements
All custom development, architecture, and design projects are governed by a signed Statement of Work (SOW) or Master Services Agreements (MSA).

• Engineering fees are broken down into transparent project milestones.

• Once a project milestone is officially approved and signed off by your team, the fees associated with that completed phase of development are non-refundable.

2. Upfront Deposits & Scoping

• Initial Deposits: Upfront deposits required to secure your placement in our lab and initiate architecture scoping are non-refundable once engineering or design work has actively begun.

• Prior to Commencement: If you choose to cancel a project before any discovery sessions, asset collection, or engineering work has initiated, your upfront payment will be refunded in full, minus any minor third-party transaction or processing fees.

3. Project Cancellations & Safe Exit
We believe a true partnership requires total alignment. If at any point during a project lifecycle you feel the direction no longer serves your business objectives, you retain the right to pause or cancel the engagement:

• Upon written notice of cancellation, work will halt immediately.

• You will only be billed for the actual engineering hours or milestones completed up to the exact date of cancellation.

• Any remaining, unearned portion of a prepayment or retainer for future unstarted milestones will be promptly returned to your business.

4. Digital Deliverables & IP Transfer
In the event of a project cancellation, any completed digital assets, custom code fragments, or design layouts that have been fully paid for up to that date will be cleanly handed over to your team. BlackLabs AI retains the intellectual property rights to any uncompleted or unpaid code, frameworks, or architectural mockups.
